Growing up in my grandmother’s house, peacocks roamed freely through our courtyard, and we children would wait breathlessly for those spectacular moments when they’d unfurl their magnificent plumage. I used to collect their fallen feathers like treasures, pressing them carefully between the pages of my favorite books. There was this beautiful childhood belief we had, similar to the tooth fairy, that if you left a peacock feather in your book overnight, you’d wake up to find baby peacocks by morning. Silly as it sounds now, that sense of magic never left me.
Years later, in my studio, I found myself returning to those same flowing curves and iridescent circles that had mesmerized me as a child. This peacock emerged with all the regal beauty I remembered, reimagined in rich teals and deep blues that feel timeless and elevated, grown-up wonder, but still wonder. The vintage botanical style honors both the natural elegance of these magnificent birds and the nostalgic sweetness of believing in everyday magic. Every eyespot in those tail feathers represents a wish preserved, a small, radiant memory, designed to transform any space into something extraordinary.
